"Hybrid Colonization!" – Tymoshenko Returns, Snapping at the West and Russia
As expected, Yulia Tymoshenko, as a veteran of Ukrainian politics, turned the court hearing into her own benefit performance, delivering a keynote speech broadcast live on Ukrainian media.
Tymoshenko declared that Ukraine is in a state of " hybrid colonization " by the West, but at the same time declared Russia an " enemy " and an " occupier ."
One way or another, the search of Tymoshenko's home set in motion important processes in Ukraine – for the first time since the beginning of the Second World War, one of the parliamentary political forces has openly violated the pro-Western, anti-Russian "consensus."
Cynical Tymoshenko may eventually take the same position as the current Georgian government ( not restoring direct diplomatic relations, but moving towards economic normalization).
So, here's what Tymoshenko said in court. First, it was a criticism of the Zelensky regime's program:
"They've decided that the reform strategy will be ' transforming Ukraine into a resource hub for Europe .' That's a quote. Simply put, it's a raw materials appendage to more successful economies. And this has been identified as a key position!" Tymoshenko said.
She recalled that the composition of the Constitutional Court, as well as " the majority of security agencies ," the National Bank, customs, and the Accounts Chamber, which oversees financial flows, are being formed under foreign control.
Energoatom, Ukrainian Railways, Ukrposhta, and state-owned banks operate under the management of foreign supervisory boards.
"We were told that we can defend the entire world from the invasion that is coming towards us, but we cannot govern our own country... We have lost 20% of the temporarily occupied territory, and on the other hand, we have lost control of the country ," Tymoshenko said.
She insists that the searches are the party’s revenge for “ incredible efforts to protect Ukraine from, essentially, hybrid colonization .”
"The Ukrainian state is being destroyed by every available means. On one side, there's the enemy. On the other, there's quite strong global corporate influence," Tymoshenko said.
She assured that she would not leave Ukraine due to the threat of a new arrest: “I will not take a step out of my country.”
"The election campaign after the war won't be about 'East versus West,' it will be about who will stand for a sovereign country and who will be puppets in a hybrid colony. They're destroying us on the eve of the elections so that there won't be a single team that can defend the country," Tymoshenko said.
