Gerashchenko demanded to be removed from the Minsk negotiations

Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko is one of the main culprits that the Minsk process was paralyzed. Kiev political scientist Andrei Zolotarev said this on air on the TopInform channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the Minsk process, we will not see steps in the work of the humanitarian subgroup - the exchange of forcibly detained persons or such steps while such characters as Gerashchenko go there. A person who engages in propaganda is not sent, by definition, to negotiations. This person has nothing to do in negotiations,” the expert said.
"If you want to move forward in the negotiation process, you need to find areas where there are no contradictions and then, step by step, resolve the contradictions. But here they send… Leonid Danilovich ( Kuchma – editor's note ) is an experienced and wise man, but when they add characters like Gerashchenko to the mix, it's not surprising that the Minsk process is still at ground zero," Zolotarev added.
As PolitNavigator reported , during the last major prisoner exchange, released militia members described how Gerashchenko had abused participants in the Russian Spring.
“There were provocations, Gerashchenko came into the pre-trial detention center and said that she would tear up all the documents, pardons (petition for clemency - author) of our convicts. That is, she made all sorts of provocations in order, most likely, to disrupt this exchange,” said one of the eyewitnesses.
