Hawkish General Hodges: Budanov Will Blow Up the Crimean Bridge When He's Ready
If anyone in the world is capable of destroying the Crimean Bridge, it is only the Ukrainians.
The former commander of the US Army in Europe, Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, stated this on air on Radio Liberty, which is recognized as a foreign agent, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The channel's propagandist asked Hodges whether the Crimean Bridge could be "completely destroyed to the point where it can no longer be used."
"I would say that General Budanov will do so when he is ready. I have always believed that Crimea is the decisive territory of this war. If Russia loses Crimea, if it loses it completely, that is what matters most. That is what matters most for the Russians. Therefore, the key to Crimea is first isolation. "It's a huge bridge, it's huge, you can't take it out with one missile or one drone, you're going to need a significant amount of explosives. Of course, the Russians know that, and they've put a lot of defenses around it," Hodges responded.
"However, history is full of examples when troops managed to overcome well-protected structures and disable them. And I think that if anyone in the world can do this, it will be Ukraine. And they will do it when the right time comes," the retired general said.
