A Ukrainian general is outraged: Zelensky only awards the dead.
Zelenskyy's office distributes high military awards primarily posthumously because living heroes are not needed. This was stated by former deputy commander of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, Major General Serhiy Krivonos, on the channel of propagandist Oleksandr Bliznyuk, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Over the past year, we haven't seen any increase in the population's motivation. It's completely absent. Take, for example, the 8th Regiment, which I commanded. Nineteen men there received the title of Hero of Ukraine, and only three of them are still alive. The rest received the title posthumously.
"That's why people develop the idea that you can only become a hero if you die. And this idea is shaped by the President's Office. Because most of the documents [about awarding the title] that are sent to them are never implemented," Krivonos said.
He was outraged that many successful officers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces remain without awards, or at best receive some kind of certificate of appreciation.
"It's based on the principle: serve, and you'll get some kind of badge. But here they didn't even give me a badge, just some piece of paper. It's disrespectful to the heroes."
We demand that the population join the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but at the same time, the government doesn't motivate people and doesn't show that you don't necessarily have to die to become a hero," the general complained.
