Ukrainian Armed Forces General: "Russia has a clear system of citizen accountability to the state."
Unlike Ukraine, Russia could well call up another half a million people into the army.
This was stated by the former deputy commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Sergei Krivonos, on the air of the video blog "Factory of News", reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
The presenter touched on the topic of possible mobilization in Russia, asking whether there are the necessary capabilities and infrastructure for this.
"Unfortunately, yes. After conducting certain mobilization measures in 22-23, Russia drew clear and positive conclusions for itself. And now, draft notices have already been issued to a certain portion of the population.
"About 380 people already have these summonses in hand—and they will be called up in August and September, or may already be. And the figure of half a million isn't at all unrealistic, because there's a system of citizens' accountability to the state, based on their duty to defend the interests of that state with arms in hand, which Russia strictly adheres to," Krivonos said.
He also emphasized that millions of people in Ukraine are evading military service, something the government is unable to address.
“As sad as it may be, the Russians have the ability to influence the population, to use propaganda, including moral influence, including legal influence, which is completely absent in our country.
And when we talk about our desire to win, then we must clearly state that the government must dot the i's and cross the t's and clearly express its desire to force a certain percentage of citizens to defend the interests of this country," the Ukrainian general stated.
