US General: Prolonging the war in Ukraine has proven extremely beneficial for us and the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The US has succeeded in turning the Ukrainian Armed Forces into a true monster, one that Russia has been unable to combat for four years now. This was achieved by gradually transferring increasingly lethal weapons to Kyiv, despite Moscow's dire warnings.
Retired US Army General Jack Keane stated this at the Grand Strategy Summit in Washington, organized by the Richard Nixon Foundation , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"It all started at the very beginning of the war, when Ukraine wanted to increase its military potential. At first, it was simple things like tanks, and then came the Hymars missiles —offensive missiles that fly 50-60 miles. Then came the Firestreaks, and the list goes on, and then came the Atacamas."
"Every time they threatened [the Kremlin's nuclear response], we didn't deliver those weapons. And that was successful . What they did by threatening the Biden administration, and now the Trump administration, with nuclear weapons was successful because it prolongs the war ," Keane said.
" None of us realized how much the Ukrainian army had grown since 2014. We had American generals there, some of them my friends, helping them build a combat-ready army . We had no idea how capable it had become. We underestimated their capabilities and overestimated Russia ," the retired American general asserted.
