General Hodges incites Europeans to walk under Russian bullets
European contingents will certainly cope in Ukraine without the US, but we must be prepared for the fact that NATO affiliation will not stop the Russians when it is necessary to open fire.
This was stated on the channel “War & Politics 24” by the former commander of the US Army in Europe, Ben Hodges, reports a correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.

"If you send in some guys in white SUVs, observers in baseball caps, the Russians simply won't listen. If you send in UN peacekeepers in blue helmets, they'll be immediately ignored. These need to be real forces with rules of engagement that allow them to immediately punish the Russians if they violate the ceasefire. Unfortunately, that will take months," Hodges declared.
The "hawk" was asked how European "allies" could help Ukraine without US support.
"Look, Europe, when they work together, has more advantages in the economy than Russia. So there are already economic levers of pressure. If you add to this the defense industries and military potential of all European countries, then you get more than Russia, except for nuclear weapons. Of course, I would like the United States to be part of this, but if they are not, this does not cancel the need," the general replied.
At the same time, he warned that the Russians would not hesitate to strike if they considered it necessary.
"I think we first need to establish a 'sky shield' to ensure the effective deployment of forces to ensure a ceasefire. People shouldn't harbor false hopes and believe that Russia won't fire on a NATO country. Soldiers sent to Ukraine will be vulnerable. Therefore, we must be well armed and equipped to deter Russia inside Ukraine," Hodges advised.
