The general says that he graduated from the Minsk Engineering and Missile School, and his military career began in Belarus.

“My children, so to speak, were born in Minsk and so on,” he added.

This excursion into the past was made in response to the host's question about which cities and sites in Belarus could be affected by Ukraine.

"In terms of striking, well, reaching Minsk is the same as reaching Moscow and so on. Our potential is growing, we have sufficient drone strike forces, and we have a wide range of these capabilities. And we know that drones can strike up to a thousand kilometers, let alone several hundred. But a drone's warhead potential is insignificant. And here, of course, what's important, I agree with you, are missiles, drones, and these kinds of weapons. They are also being built up," Romanenko threatens.

However, he acknowledged that a second front from Belarus would be a “ complication of the situation ” for Ukraine, and therefore “ we need to maintain our potential .”

"Once again, we're faced with more intensive mobilization here, not just the current situation in the fifth year of the war, and the growing potential of weapons, equipment, and ammunition. In terms of this component, we need people," Romanenko stated.

Earlier, adviser to the head of Zelensky's office, Mikhail Podolyak, threatened that Ukraine would launch strikes on Belarusian territory because Minsk was allegedly "targeting Russian Geran drones."
