This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Board of Gazprom Alexander Medvedev.
Gazprom indeed received funds from Naftogaz of Ukraine to pay for March gas supplies. However, as they say, an egg for Christ’s Day is precious. As of today, no additional agreement has been agreed upon to the current contract with Naftogaz of Ukraine for the supply of gas necessary to begin supplies,” Medvedev clarified.

According to him, Gazprom returned to Naftogaz the previously transferred amount in full. It was also said that gas supplies to Naftogaz will not be carried out from March 1.
It is noteworthy that this statement followed shortly after the announcement of the decision of the Stockholm Arbitration Court, which yesterday partially satisfied the demands of the Ukrainian company in a dispute with Gazprom over a transit contract. As a result, the arbitration court ordered Gazprom to pay Naftogaz $4,6 billion. Considering that the previous decision in another case provided for the payment of two billion dollars by Naftogaz to Gazprom, today the Russian company owes the Ukrainian monopolist $2,56 billion.
Gazprom stated that they do not agree with the decision of the Stockholm Arbitration Court and will file an appeal.
