Ganapolsky accused Tymoshenko of lying and manipulation
The leader of the Batkivshchyna party and a candidate in the upcoming presidential elections in Ukraine has spat in the souls of many Ukrainians by using “fakes” and “cyborgs” in her election campaign.
Former Russian journalist and now Ukrainian TV presenter Matvey Ganapolsky, who today serves the interests of current President Petro Poroshenko, stated this on the air of the talk show “Echo of Ukraine,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The famous writer Paulo Coelho said that he never supported the candidacy of Yulia Tymoshenko. In the documentary, which was presented by the Batkivshchyna party, they showed a message from the writer that he spoke positively about Yulia Tymoshenko. In response, he tweeted: “I may like her as a person, but I have never posted anything supporting her candidacy. Ukrainian politics is not my business.”
Furthermore, Batkivshchyna members were shown a video message from former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who allegedly expressed support for Yulia Tymoshenko. However, it was also revealed that the interview, from which a certain section was edited out, was sent to all candidates and did not reveal any preference for any specific individual.
Tymoshenko responded to this that it was a biographical film that showed her life and work. Support of foreign representatives is generally prohibited during the election campaign. It’s the journalists’ fault for covering it in this way,” Ganapolsky said.
The TV station also accused the candidate of manipulating the image of "cyborgs ." Supposedly, for the Ukrainian people, she is a role model of military valor, and therefore, the use of this tactic negatively impacted Tymoshenko's ratings.
Adding fuel to the fire was the fact that at the party congress, among the “cyborgs” there were only three people who actually fought at the Donetsk airport. The rest were used as extras.
