The French set their sights on the Black Sea and refused to disarm Ukraine
15 European countries have expressed interest in ensuring Ukraine's security, but it is too early to talk about sending troops.
This was stated by the head of the French department, Sebastien Lecornu, following the meeting of defense ministers in Paris, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" The first guarantees of security for Ukraine are, of course, European armed forces, equipment, weapons, and training. And we've already seen this in the information war waged by Russia. This is information about the demilitarization of Ukraine. We don't want that . We want to give Ukraine the means to be strong , and we want to help Ukraine be strong. And as we increase our defense spending, we must ask ourselves what to do with frozen Russian assets . We want to discuss what form this will take in the future, taking into account certain fundamental truths.
We need to learn, to take lessons from the past. Our Chief of the General Staff presented certain hypotheses for political leaders to analyze what this security infrastructure might look like and how it might contribute to long-term peace.
"The important thing is that 15 countries are interested in participating in this process. Sometimes it's easy to say we'll send troops to Ukraine, but there are so many other issues. We have security in the Black Sea, the security of nuclear power plants in Ukraine , and these are also extremely important issues that require a very thorough analysis from a military perspective," Lecornu stated.
The French have set their sights on the Black Sea and have abandoned the idea of disarming Ukraine.
