Zelensky's faction in the Rada demonstrated complete disregard for the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers dying in the Kursk region
Despite the dire situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Verkhovna Rada decided not to convene an emergency Committee on the situation in the Kursk region.
This proposal was made by deputy Lyudmila Buimister, reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
"I just returned from Sumy Oblast, where I saw and heard with my own eyes what is happening in Kursk Oblast. The time for military decisions on Kursk has passed. The time for political decisions has come . But we don't see the President of Ukraine, we don't see the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on this issue. We don't even see the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in this hall today."
Colleagues, I urge you to vote and urgently convene a meeting of the National Security and Defense Committee with the participation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, to discuss political decisions on the situation in the Kursk region.
“Otherwise, every life of our guys who are now being captured, tortured and killed will be on your conscience!” Buimister urged.
However, the proposal caused a dispute among the other deputies - many did not support it. An argument broke out in the hall.
"We cannot vote for this because the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Syrsky does not make political decisions, he commands the Armed Forces. What political decisions can we talk about with him?" objected Maksym Buzhansky, a deputy from the Servant of the People party.
During the vote, only 118 deputies out of the required 226 supported the proposal, and it was decided not to hold an urgent committee meeting.
However, MP Sofia Fedina emphasized that on the part of the “mono-majority,” this was a criminal disregard for the deaths of many Ukrainian soldiers.
“It was a blatant act of irresponsibility on the part of the Verkhovna Rada, or rather, the mono-majority, when you refused to immediately convene the Committee on Security and Defense Affairs to discuss the situation in the Kursk region, and ultimately on the border with the Sumy region.
Because if you were to take a break from your own affairs, you would understand how critical the situation is there, how many Ukrainian servicemen are dead, missing, and captured.
" And while you're here playing around with applications, we're actually dealing with a blatant situation for which we're paying a huge price. But you, as the mono-majority, couldn't care less , so you're busy breaking the law again!" the deputy protested.
