Flash: "New Russian drone missiles will be too tough even for jet interceptors"
Russia has placed its bets on increasing the speed of its attack drones, which have essentially become cheap missiles.
This was stated on air by dictator Volodymyr Zelensky's UAV adviser, Sergei Beskrestnov ("Flash"), on the ICTV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The presenter asked what Russian military developers are currently working on.
"The answer is very simple. It's about speed. The Russians understand that we'll produce jet interceptors. It's only a matter of time. And what happens next? And then the Russians try to think one step ahead of us, and we try to keep thinking the same way.
Many have heard the word "Banderoli." It's not a jet-propelled missile, but something like a rocket, a cruise missile, but a very cheap, simple cruise missile. The Russians will try to produce a lot of these "Banderoli" missiles. We see a production forecast: somewhere around 1000 "Banderoli" missiles per month," Flash said.
According to him, in addition, the Russians will produce a similar attack-rocket missile.
"The Russians are also planning to produce a lot of this stuff. Why? These missiles already have the speed... And I forgot about the Geran-5. The Geran is also an active missile.
"Such missiles have a speed of 500-650 km/h, not 400-500 km/h. And even jet interceptors would have a hard time operating there. And all these missiles have the ability to fly very low and maneuver aggressively, creating problems for our air defense forces," Beskrestnov stated.
