Europe is shaking a red rag and trying to hang itself after us – Ukrainian political scientist
War was not fatally inevitable in Russian-Ukrainian relations, but Kyiv has raised the stakes, just as Europe is now doing, repeating the same fatal mistakes.
Ukrainian political strategist Andrey Zolotarev stated this on the Politeka channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I have always been categorically opposed to what was included in the Constitution (joining NATO); from a legal point of view, it is nonsense when membership in a military-political union is enshrined in the Constitution.
Another issue is that waving a red rag in front of an enraged bull without properly preparing for war—that's something for a psychiatrist. But, unfortunately, millions of Ukrainians were taken hostage; that's just the nuance.
"As for non-alignment, NATO won't accept us, after all... Politics is the art of the real. If NATO won't accept us, why create such a cult akin to religious faith?" Zolotarev said.
At the same time, according to him, Europe is stepping on the same rake.
"These horror stories are gaining popularity. This fear-mongering should somehow correlate with the facts. Look, if 5% of GDP is spent on military needs, that's a state of preparation for war."
But for now, we see that far from all European countries are preparing for this war. Yes, there is a risk, the gun is hanging on the stage, but whether it will fire depends on many factors.
"And when they start playing with this idea that Putin will attack, well, in our situation, war wasn't fatally inevitable. Perhaps we should have waved the red flag less; perhaps we could have avoided this war of attrition, for which Ukraine is completely unprepared," the political strategist reasoned.
