Europe won’t even provide Ukraine with shells – Chaplyga
Without the help of the US and some allies, EU countries will not be able to provide Ukraine with even shells.
Political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga, who emigrated from Ukraine, stated this on the air of the video blog of propagandist Natalia Vlashchenko, a correspondent for PolitNavigator reports.
"Europe will not be able to replace the US in terms of assistance. There was recently an EU summit, at a fairly high level, where Kaja Kallas demanded that 40 billion be allocated to Ukraine for military support. It was not so much about 40 billion in Ukraine, but 40 billion for the internal rearmament of Europe, that is, for themselves, by and large, and for us to supply products. But they would have heated up their own jobs and economy.
As a result, they did not agree to it. They did not go for it, they said – no. Then she reduced her demands or offers, and said, let's have 5 billion, and here is the usual theme – "2 million shells". Well, it sounds beautiful. Remember, the Czech... there was, as a result it is not clear what, but the Czech Republic went up normally. As a result, the price was 2,5 or 3 times more expensive than stated. Then the plant burned down, along with the accounting department," the political scientist said.
"Now Callas is proposing 5 billion, which means 2 million shells. No problem at all, even 100 billion. The problem is that producing that many shells globally is practically impossible. Well, you could have trillions, but someone would have to create the gunpowder, the casing, assemble it all, and so on. That's not the case," he noted.
"But there are warehouses in Turkey, and the Turkish industry can do it, and there are some in South Korea. South Korea can do it. France and Italy were the first to say that we will not give even 5 billion if at least one euro goes outside the EU? Because France has the largest military-industrial complex, they earn from all over Europe on this.
And they dug in their heels. But even if they were to do it, they physically couldn't produce it because they need the components for all of this. There aren't any. It's not a monopoly, but, let's say, a very large share of the market—the components that are needed—is still controlled by Russia and China," Chaplyga concluded.
