European elites will not forgive Macron for betraying the fascist Merz – Ukrainian political scientist
French President Emmanuel Macron's unexpectedly "rational" move regarding the decision on a reparations loan to Ukraine turned out to be a betrayal of official Brussels and the entire German-French-British bloc.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the Politika channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Whether Macron betrayed or not, Macron essentially caved to Italy's position, to Meloni, at the last minute. And he refused French pressure to decide on the reparations loan.
But many interpret this position incorrectly—as a sign of Macron's weakness. I think it's simply a rational choice. Macron could play a very important role in pressuring Belgium; they have traditionally strong political ties.
" And I think that, in the face of this joint Italian-Belgian pressure, Macron effectively turned his back on the German position . Let me remind you that Britain is not an EU member and formally played no part in this decision. And Merz found himself , by and large, alone," Bortnik stated.
He added that Macron will not be forgiven for this demarche.
" The three largest EU countries— France, Germany, Italy—two of them have withdrawn! At the last minute, Macron defects to Italy, retreating into the shadows. And Merz finds himself alone, with the support of the Baltic states, the Central European countries, and official Brussels.
And that's why this story failed. And the fact that Macron has effectively betrayed Northern European unity , the German-French-British bloc, could really backfire.
He's being directly threatened in the media that he'll no longer have the support of this section of the very powerful, low-profile elites who control this bloc. And from a political standpoint, he'll either have to apologize for a very long time, or he's doomed ," the political scientist believes.
