"Where are we heading? This has certainly led to a sharp increase in defense spending in Europe, both in Germany and at EU level. This is more than just a change. We are living in a different world when it comes to security," Ilves said, raising concerns.

At the same time, he predicts that not all European countries will become politicized.

"I understand that Hungary, Slovakia, Italy and Spain do not want to spend money. So they will probably create another coalition that will respond to all this," Ilves noted with displeasure.
