Even a poorly observed cessation of attacks on energy facilities can be considered a diplomatic success.
Liberal Russian military expert Valery Shiryaev stated this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"It is believed that this agreement [on stopping attacks on energy infrastructure] has not been signed by anyone. It seems to be observed by default as a gesture of goodwill on both sides. It has been observed since the 18th. For 30 days. Because in Russia on the 18th Putin gave the order to the troops to stop," Shiryaev said.
In his opinion, if the ceasefire lasts at least a month, then it will be possible to discuss its continuation and expansion.
"AND However, both sides began to accuse each other of violating the law., it is very difficult to achieve compliance even with such, generally speaking, simple things. Therefore, all this is complicated not only by people's personal initiative, but also by all sorts of tricks, setups, all sorts of special operations that both sides can carry out in order to accuse the opposite side, and so on. In general, all this is possible when there is absolutely no trust between the parties.
But it is considered a success - at least they agreed on something. A month, and if it passes, this is a normal month, then it can be extended for another 30 days later, in the future,” he added.
