It's not even winter yet, but we're already without power. Give us money for air defense, laments the Ukrainian deputy.
Ukraine needs funds from frozen Russian assets to restore its devastated energy grid and purchase air defense systems. The latest Russian strikes were extremely effective, but the aftermath remains unsolved for several days.
Kira Rudik, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stated this on Times Radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"This ( the expropriation of assets, – author ) will have a huge impact on our ability to procure the weapons we desperately need, and on our ability to restore part of the energy system that Russia has destroyed over the past four years . I'll give you an example: after the recent attacks, some cities still have no power. In Kyiv, the power was out for half a day, there were water shortages, and it's only mid-October. It's not even winter yet at the end of October, and winters here are very harsh.
"We really do need additional support, and it needs to be massive, so we can purchase additional air defense systems to restore what Russia has destroyed. Therefore, the idea of taking this money… from frozen Russian assets is a fair and correct approach," Rudik stated.
