"The EU is twisting our arms!" – the story of the 90 billion loan for Ukraine turned into a mega-betrayal.
The European Union is twisting Ukraine's arm, forcing it to buy weapons with loans it provides.
Economic expert Daniil Monin stated this on air during political scientist Ruslan Bortnik's video blog , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The EU decision, which is currently being discussed, to give only 30 billion in cash and 60 billion in weapons – this has a catastrophic negative impact on Ukraine.
I don’t understand at all – well, they should have somehow coordinated their position with the Ukrainian side when allocating it – how it happened that they shifted it onto us, especially since these will be loans!
You understand that if this is just a loan, then we were promised a €90 billion increase in our national debt over two years. And the budget needs real money to cover the deficit.
And now they're telling us... Moreover, we were given quite a lot of military equipment for free; the budget received approximately 18-20 billion rubles in military equipment. Now the Europeans are telling us: "Buy this military equipment from us with credits."
"In other words, they're essentially twisting our arm. And now I, too, don't understand how the state plans to wage a war for an entire year when resources may actually be insufficient ," Monin said.
