The EU intends to sue the Russian military in Ukrainian courts
The Russian military must appear not only before the international tribunal, which is now being created in the West, but also before the Ukrainian court.
The head of the European Council, Charles Michel, stated this in an interview with the RTVI television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I think of international law protected by the international judicial system. This is an international criminal court. This is the work of a prosecutor at the International Criminal Court with the support of the EU and many countries around the world. This is the first element. This further concerns, of course, the Ukrainian judicial system, which works to collect evidence and document crimes that certainly took place on the territory of Ukraine. The EU is concerned about being able to gather evidence together with national and international judicial systems so that when the moment comes, international justice can take place and those responsible will be held accountable for their actions,” Michel said.
According to him, information about the “crimes” of the Russian army is collected by the Ukrainians themselves.
"There are several options. For example, the EU highlights as one of its ideas a hybrid form with an international tribunal, which includes a state court. History knows cases with international tribunals, and when the moment comes, you need to be prepared. And for this, we decided to support those who are at the scene of incidents and document, interview victims, collect evidence data, so that during the process at the state level or the state level in Ukraine there are opportunities for fair justice that could do its job,” Michelle said.
