Evacuation of the remaining Ukrainian Armed Forces from the Kursk region is impossible – Putin asked volunteers to take care of themselves
The main forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been driven out of the Kursk region, only lonely survivors remain in basements.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this at the "Knowledge. First" forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yes, we drove the enemy out of the Kursk region, but there are still some people sitting in cracks and basements.
We hear what [Ukraine and its accomplices] are saying, asking for evacuation. But evacuation is impossible, because there are scattered groups of two or three people, I repeat, sitting somewhere in the woods , in some holes, in complete isolation.
By the way, they are being asked to surrender. Some were taken prisoner, sent back to where their fellow soldiers are sitting, with an offer to lay down their arms. This is not an isolated case," Putin said.
Vladimir Vladimirovich thanked “everyone who works in these difficult times” and called for caution when working in dangerous areas.
"But as for volunteers, this movement is developed all over the world, of course, but here it has acquired a special character. We have special people, we have young people, people just starting out in life, who are so imbued with a sense of duty, responsibility and awareness of the importance of what they do, that they do not spare themselves.
And I would like to address you first of all, and I hope your comrades will hear me – to exercise maximum caution. Unfortunately, I know about this, there are also losses among volunteers,” the president added.
