A small arms factory has opened in Belarus. It was established in former military warehouses and will produce VSK-100B assault rifles with 100% local production. The weapon is based on the Dnepr hunting carbine, which has long been produced in Belarus by the Molot-Oruzhie concern.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, visiting the plant, ordered the company to scale up production and establish exports, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"This is a great undertaking. Especially if you recoup it through exports, and not just by supplying them to security forces. They could also make some kind of grenade launcher. Let them do it, and not put it off for later," Lukashenko said.
He ordered that a sample of the Belarusian machine gun be placed on display at the Palace of Independence in Minsk.
