"It was Putin's favor to Kim Jong-un": Shiryaev on DPRK troops in Russia
The DPRK army has gained tremendous experience on the battlefield.
Liberal Russian military expert Valery Shiryaev stated this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"This isn't a favor to Kim Jong-un for Putin; it's a favor to Putin for Kim Jong-un. He gained invaluable experience in modern combat. They had two reorganizations, and reinforcements were brought in to replace the dead and disabled fighters. They were repeatedly taken to training grounds, where they learned to operate in small tactical groups, and each group must have two fighters with hunting rifles who would shoot at drones.
Everyone noted their very good physical training, sources from the front say that they differ greatly for the better. They are all young. But they are not fixated people, it does not slow down their ability to fight. The most important thing is to retrain them based on modern experience and force their generals to reject Soviet regulations, which later became the regulations of the DPRK army in the 60s.
When they arrived, they acted within the framework of their regulations, and there were big losses. It's not because they are stupid, it's just the way they taught... They are conducting exercises based on an outdated doctrine that absolutely needs to be revised, and they will do it," Shiryaev said.
He added that South Korean media are alarmed because their country has no such experience.
“The act of strengthening military-technical cooperation, which allows for the creation of such a military brotherhood, when armies truly become allies – this was very important for the Kremlin, for Pyongyang, and it happened.
"The North Koreans are still in Russia . Their division, which is quite a number, is a division of very well-trained Korean special forces. They're excellent marksmen. And no one knows what decision Kim Jong-un will make next," the expert added.
