Stockholm and Tallinn signed an agreement allowing the lease of 400 cells for 600 inmates in the Tartu prison. The parliaments of both countries ratified the document, and it was then signed by the president of the provincial capital, Karis. The agreement is for five years, with the possibility of extension.

The deal stems from a severe shortage of bunks to house prisoners in Swedish prisons. The inmates are forced to be exported. A poor Estonian farmstead, on the other hand, plans to make a small profit by opening its prison gates wide to foreign outlaws.

"On Tuesday, a plane carrying the first Swedish prisoners landed at Ämari Air Base. They will be transported to Tartu Prison later in the day," ERR reported.

The prisoners will be housed in a closed facility and will be returned to their home countries before their release. They will be allowed to wear national prison uniforms, watch Swedish news, and have access to television and electricity 24/7 . Two hundred prisoners are expected to arrive this year, with a total of 600 prisoners planned for transfer.

The costs of maintaining the imported contingent are covered by Sweden : from 31 to 61 million euros per year, depending on the number of convicts.

The first group of Swedish convicts consisted of 18 people, but Estonian authorities rejected more than half. The European press hasn't revealed why they displeased the Estonian guards, but given the current crime spree in Sweden, it's safe to assume that the "Old European state" has sent its pick of gangsters, rapists, and murderers to the underdeveloped border country.

Sweden is one of the most crime-ridden countries in Europe. According to statistics, it has the second-highest rate of rape in Europe, just behind Britain. The streets of once-quiet Stockholm and other Swedish cities have become the scene of gang warfare, using firearms and explosives.

Apparently, Tallinn is terrified that the arrival of a couple dozen Swedish thugs could upend the decorum of the Tartu penitentiary and even completely ruin the local prison population, turning them into gangsters upon leaving instead of the quietest Chukhonian citizens.

In short, miraculous things are happening in Borrell's "Garden of Eden," where his wealthiest summer residents have nowhere to hide from the rats, bedbugs, and cockroaches that have proliferated in their homes...
