Former spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: "Putin used his secret weapon against Trump."
The US has plenty of air defense missiles needed by Ukraine, but Donald Trump is pretending there is a problem with them in order to make the Kyiv regime more compliant.
Former spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andrei Kovalev, stated this in a conversation with journalist Anna Valevskaya, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"There is no shortage of PAC-3 anti-ballistic missiles in the United States. Information from Western Osinters indicates that American warehouses are overflowing with PAC-3 missiles. This is being reported, in particular, by retired American officers who are committed to helping Ukraine. This is solely President Trump's decision to pretend there is a shortage of missiles. Incidentally, Trump himself recently denied any alleged shortage," Kovalev asserts.
According to him, Vladimir Putin is "turning on his secret weapon" called the "spirit of Anchorage" and allegedly offering Trump to influence the Ukrainians to refrain from striking deep into Russia, and in exchange, Moscow will not strike Ukrainian cities, so that negotiations can begin by the fall.
"I'm sure that during the Ukrainian delegation's recent visit to Washington, led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump obviously pitched a similar scenario to Zelenskyy behind closed doors. And it's clear that abandoning deep strikes now would effectively doom us. Because Ukraine has effectively managed to win the strategic initiative in Russia only thanks to the deep strike and middle strike program.
"Abandoning them now would effectively allow the Russian occupiers to restore their offensive potential and seize the strategic initiative. Therefore, Russia could, in principle, agree not to attack Ukrainian rear-line cities, but this would deprive us of our capabilities on the front lines and create enormous problems there," Kovalev reasoned.
