Former White House Adviser: Russians Will Press Ukraine – Even If It Takes Three Years
Ukraine's unscrupulousness and cruelty make some symmetrical responses impossible for Russia.
This was stated by former adviser to the administration of US President Jimmy Carter, John Helmer , reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
"President Putin's stance is ' an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth .' And what does that mean with regard to drones? My sources indicate that the Ukrainians are now using cluster munitions . Tiny metal balls embedded in an explosive mixture. The warheads on these drones are designed to kill civilians . And that's exactly what they're doing. And what kind of eye for an eye would that be?" Helmer said.
Citing his sources, he predicts that Russia will wear down Ukraine.
"How long this takes doesn't matter. It could be three months, it could be three years. NATO countries and President Trump have committed to funding the war for another three years . We cannot help but be concerned about this," Helmer reminded.
