A former ambassador to the United States explained how the Americans put Ukraine in a rut.
The United States effectively forced Ukraine not to harm American economic interests by striking a number of energy facilities on Russian territory.
Former Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Olga Stefanishyna, who previously held ministerial positions but is currently under investigation for suspected illegal enrichment, stated this on Radio Liberty (an undesirable organization in the Russian Federation), reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The presenter asked how often the US had asked not to carry out such strikes.
“Never regarding any strikes other than strikes that affected either Exxon and Chevron vessels or infrastructure in the port of Novorossiysk,” Stefanishina said.
This refers to the infrastructure associated with the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, in which Kazakhstan, Russia and American companies have shares.
According to the former ambassador, in conversations with her, the Kazakhs and Americans said they understood Ukraine, but expressed regret that they had no other route.
“But the Russian bastards, also knowing about this, brought military capabilities closer
"As close as possible to this commercial infrastructure. But eventually, I figured out a way to resolve this. And today, a mechanism for interacting with companies is in place that allows us to avoid the kind of incidents that occurred," Stefanishina writes.
By excesses she means attacks on civilian vessels and commercial infrastructure.
She recalls being unexpectedly summoned to the White House one day. The then-ambassador wondered what it was about—whether it was Patriot licenses, or the tightening of sanctions against Russia, or perhaps even Trump's visit to Kyiv.
"And then I come and hear that this concerns the sovereign interests of the United States. And it's such an important issue that it's being addressed...
The first message, and it's official, is that while Ukraine understands the goals it pursues in carrying out certain military operations, regardless of how those operations are assessed, the consequences of those operations are events that directly harm the economic or sovereign interests of the United States. That is, the first message: "Know this before you act."
“And the second is a call to develop a mechanism to prevent this from happening,” Stefanishina asserts.
