Former US Ambassador: The Ukrainian Armed Forces will continue to be inflated because the Russians are just wasting their breath.
Only a real military threat can force Western industrialists to refuse to sell weapons to Ukraine.
The last US ambassador to the Soviet Union, Jack Matlock , stated this in an interview with Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Why are Europe building up its forces? The fact is, Russia doesn't threaten them, even though they supply Ukraine with weapons that are used to attack Russia.
Yes, Russia has stated that in such a case it has the right to strike these bases or the transport systems through which the weapons are delivered. But so far they haven't done so. All of this is pushing the Europeans to spend more ," Matlock said.
"This is the influence of our military-industrial complex, which was one of the main forces advocating for NATO expansion in the 90s. They simply want to sell American weapons. And, unfortunately, our military-industrial complex is so ingrained in our economy that the Department of Defense has contractors in virtually every state."
And so, if you try to cut the defense budget, it's going to be very difficult . And I think if you look back at the 90s and ask why the US insisted on NATO expansion, it turns out that it was the military-industrial complex that was behind it.
They were afraid that peace would come, and they needed to create equal competitors for themselves, that is, Russia, and then China, as potential enemies in order to justify growing defense budgets.
"And so I believe the Europeans are now falling for this ploy and acting as if they have to defend themselves against Russia by taking actions that Russia can only regard as hostile and offensive. I think this is incredibly dangerous ," the diplomat added.
