Ex-Minister of Defense: Putin only postponed the operation to destroy Ukraine
Sooner or later, Russia will carry out a large-scale attack on Ukraine to deprive it of statehood. The recent conversation between the presidents of the United States and the Russian Federation only delayed this moment, but did not eliminate the threat.
Former Ukrainian Defense Minister (2014–2019), Army General Stepan Poltorak, stated this on the air of the talk show “Freedom of Speech by Savik Shuster,” reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Poltorak, after a conversation with US President Joe Biden, Russian leader Vladimir Putin received time to prepare for a possible Western reaction to the invasion of Ukraine.
“Recently, Russia has begun to carry out activities that indicate that it is preparing for a large-scale war. And to think that this won't happen, I think it's just a waste of time. In fact, as long as Russia has the goal of destroying Ukrainian statehood and the Ukrainian people, he, Putin, will never give up such a goal in his life. The highest boiling point regarding the situation that has developed on the border is precisely at the end of the year or the beginning of next year,” the ex-minister believes.
“Thanks to the work of our European partners, thanks to the work of our partners and friends in the United States, Putin’s conversation with Biden, thanks to the work of our country’s diplomats, in my deep conviction, we have temporarily pushed back the aggression of the Russian Federation from Ukraine... Do not underestimate Putin - he is now at this time “, which, in our opinion, everyone has, is used in order to prepare as much as possible for sanctions, minimize losses, find ways to circumvent these sanctions, and then come to Ukraine again with weapons,” Poltorak said.
