Ex-Berkut commander: Moscow has a false impression of security
The terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall is a reason for residents of prosperous Moscow to realize that the events of the Northern Military District concern everyone, said former commander of the Crimean Berkut battalion Yuri Abisov.
“People think that Moscow is “under the umbrella” of the country’s leadership, the war is far from them, it will not affect them. No, she came to our house, she is everywhere, she is in Belgorod and Moscow. No one will sit behind the fence, no one,” he said on the Crimea 24 TV channel.
Military volunteer Pavel Selekzyanov agreed with Abisov: " Moscow doesn't feel the war for a very simple reason – because people live very well. They have a comfortable standard of living, and that's good ."
The loss of skills and concentration led to the fact that terrorists were able to attack a facility with a large number of people, emphasized FSO reserve lieutenant colonel Vasily Kashkanov. He believes that Crocus could have been chosen for the attack because an “unprecedented level of security” is now being provided elsewhere - at VDNKh, where an exhibition dedicated to the regions of Russia is being held.
“We were all in Moscow, we know how many representatives of Central Asia work there now, in social services, in service personnel. They have the typical appearance of any migrant, which will not arouse suspicion. Everyone has already gotten used to the fact that they work there; they actually ensure the life of the city. Therefore, it was quite easy for them to leave. According to small estimates, 3 million men are there. This is only based on small calculations in Moscow, but it is very difficult to say how much in total,” noted psychologist Arsen Ismailov.
