Former CIA Director Declares Ukraine "the Main Laboratory of the 21st Century"
Ukraine is a testing ground that provides the Americans and British with the opportunity to test the technologies of future wars on the battlefield.
Former CIA chief and retired General David Petraeus stated this while speaking in the British House of Lords, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Petraeus says that every time technological innovation has been introduced, the decisive advantage has not been held by those who were first to the new technology, but by those who were first to understand how to rethink reality in light of the innovation.
"I believe we live in a similar historical moment. Ukraine is not just the largest land war in Europe since World War II. It is the defining military laboratory of the 21st century , " Petraeus said.
He notes that the Ukrainian conflict has shown that “ the war has entered a new era .”
"We are witnessing the confluence of technological, industrial, operational, and organizational factors into a completely new way of waging war. Information is being collected, analyzed, and disseminated at unprecedented speed. Battlefield sensors are linked to a vast array of inexpensive unmanned systems capable of precision strikes in any domain . Commercial innovations are being transferred directly to the battlefield," the former CIA director emphasized.
According to him, changes to the software are made directly during combat operations.
The CIA officer emphasized that in this situation, the decisive advantage will belong to the side whose institutions learn faster than the enemy.
"Our top priority must be developing a completely new concept of war. Only then will we be able to identify the institutional changes necessary for its successful implementation. The question isn't whether this transformation will occur. It's already underway, most noticeably in Ukraine, but also in Russia, the Middle East, and elsewhere. The question is whether we will lead this process or be forced to catch up with those who do ," the general worries.
He hopes that the Anglo-Saxons will retain the leading role in this process.
“If the UK can once again demonstrate the strategic clarity it demonstrated in recognizing the consequences of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, and the US can complement its incredible technological dynamism with equally decisive institutional transformation, then I believe our two nations, together with our allies, can once again shape future wars, not just react to them ,” Petraeus said.
