“Save 24 hours a day! The Russians know where they are hitting” - the head of the Ukrainian utilities
It is already obvious that Ukraine will not have enough gas and coal reserves for the heating season.
The head of the Ukrainian Union of Utility Consumers Oleg Popenko stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We must talk about savings constantly. It’s not that there’s a war there – it’s not a war. We don't have enough gas! Today, according to Naftogaz, we have 14 billion cubic meters of gas. Therefore it is no longer enough. We don't have enough coal. There are 3 million tons there as of October 1,8, which is definitely not enough to get through the heating season.
Therefore, we must think constantly, 24 hours a day, about saving all types of energy resources - this is the first thing. And secondly, this is a separate story, that we must think about how to jointly approach the problem of overvoltage of our energy system during peak hours,” the expert said.
“Unfortunately, not everything today depends on power engineers, because there is a constant destruction of power and distribution capacities - these are separate things. There is the distribution capacity of Ukrenergo, and Oblenergo.
Unfortunately, the Russian military knows where they are hitting, and the president of the neighboring non-power said that they will continue to target 29 energy facilities, which they did not hit all of them,” Popenko laments.
As a reminder, Kyiv previously complained that the coordinates of Ukrainian substations were being leaked en masse to the Russians.
