Trump's Sock Effect: Moscow Prepares to Completely Lift Sanctions on US Congressmen
A return visit by a delegation of American congressmen to Russia will take place in the coming months.
State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Nikonov, who led the delegation that visited the United States last week, announced this at a press conference in Moscow, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"I can't give a precise date. It will be determined largely by the election calendar, which is taking place this year in both our country and the United States. It's unlikely to happen in the coming months," Nikonov said.
He recalled that almost all US congressmen (except those elected later) have been under Russian sanctions since 2022. The issue of lifting them will need to be resolved.
"While the American side was implementing a so-called waiver, meaning a temporary exclusion from the sanctions list, we simply don't have such a procedure. We'll have to lift the sanctions completely ," Nikonov said.
Russian lawmakers visiting the US Congress received gifts of socks featuring American leader Donald Trump, postcards featuring the President of the United States, and bottles of Coca-Cola.
