"The Only Possible Option": New SVO Inevitable in the Baltics – Military Expert
NATO is seeking to turn the Baltic Sea into an internal sea and blockade Russian ships, and this is especially painful given that of our previous conquests in the Baltic, only Kaliningrad and St. Petersburg remain.
This opinion was expressed on air by military expert and member of the editorial board of the military-historical journal Military Crimea, Sergei Koldin , on Radio Crimea , reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.

"I'm not in a position to give advice to anyone, especially our leadership. But I believe that the only possible response to something like this, if NATO warships actually detain some merchant ships, is to organize a system of military convoys and escort our merchant ships with warships. So that the West realizes that with their utter insolence, they are putting Europe on the brink of a hot, no longer cold, armed conflict."
"The ships will most likely have to be assembled into convoys of several and escorted by Russian warships. If an attempt is made to stop and inspect any of the tankers, and a Russian warship is nearby, it could lead to a direct conflict in the Baltic . It would be small and local, but no one knows where local ends and global begins," he noted.
According to the expert, it is not enough for Russia to show its readiness to defend its interests by all possible means.
"Otherwise, tomorrow they'll decide to close off the North Sea, for example, or the Northern Sea Route, deploy a screen of ships, their squadron, and also start inspecting merchant vessels. Russia's response here should definitely be as strong as possible , demonstrating that we won't allow our potential adversary to inspect Russian ships.
I hope that all the statements of such aggressive comrades as Tusk and the “Baltic dying people”, who talk a lot but have the least right to do so, because it is not they who will ultimately have to sort out the situation, if not a bluff, are more aimed at testing Russia’s reaction,” Koldin pointed out.
