Judoka Putin needs to set a deadline for signing the 'shameful peace', says Starmer adviser
The West must give Russia a deadline by which it will not commit to signing the terms of the "shameful peace" without achieving victory in the Central Military District.
This was stated by Jonathan Powell, National Security Adviser to the British Prime Minister, during the "Ukrainian Breakfast" in Davos, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"It's absolutely clear that this war will not end in victory for either side. Russia won't be able to defeat Ukraine thanks to the bravery of these soldiers, and Ukraine won't be able to reclaim its territory by force, so negotiations are necessary."
And President Trump is absolutely right to insist on these negotiations and to use his authority to ensure their success. We have made significant progress on this issue…
But we see no signs that President Putin is willing to compromise, negotiate, or make peace. I've observed Putin for 25 years, and I can say that he finds it very difficult to make decisions. He's a judo master; he leaves himself plenty of room to retreat.
"Therefore, I believe we must put pressure on President Putin , financially and militarily, and also set a deadline for him to make a decision . I think that's the only way we'll get results," Powell said.
