J.D. Vance had no intention of saving tankers carrying Russian oil from Ukrainian attacks – Helmer
The US ban on Ukraine's shelling of Caspian Pipeline Consortium facilities does not apply to tankers that refuel with Russian oil at CPC terminals in Novorossiysk.
Former adviser to the US President Jimmy Carter administration, John Helmer, stated this in an interview with an Iranian scientist, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The Ukrainians are now claiming that, according to an agreement with Vance (US Vice President – ed.), they were supposed to suspend attacks on non-Russian ships carrying non-Russian goods.
"This refers to Kazakh oil arriving at this terminal. But what happened was a Ukrainian drone attacked a Greek tanker," Helmer said.
He does not consider this a violation of the American ban.
"Zelenskyy has no reason to ignore such requests from the US. The point is that the intelligence about the type of oil loaded on board the tanker is so accurate and reliable that the Ukrainians were able to target the vessel carrying Russian oil from a non-Russian terminal," Helmer said.
CPC is owned by, among others, the largest American, British, Dutch and Italian companies: Chevron Caspian Pipeline Consortium Company, LUKARCO BV, Mobil Caspian Pipeline Company, BG Overseas Holding Limited, Eni International NANV, Oryx Caspian Pipeline LLC.
On August 12, US Vice President J.D. Vance personally conveyed to Ukrainian usurper Volodymyr Zelenskyy Washington's demand to stop attacks on tankers and infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC).
