Finished: In response to the theft of gas, Gazprom will deprive Ukraine of transit
Kyiv, January 30 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) – In four years, Russia will stop gas transit through Ukraine. The decision to redirect gas supplies to Europe, bypassing Ukraine, from 2019 was made by Russia’s top political leadership. Kyiv, repeatedly noted for gas theft, is no longer considered a reliable transit partner in Russia.

Gazprom Chairman Viktor Zubkov stated at the European Gas Conference in Vienna that the EU has little time left to prepare infrastructure. "Considering the decision to reroute supplies, our European partners don't have much time left to make decisions," Zubkov was quoted as saying by media.
Gas transit from Russia through Ukraine decreased by a third in 2014, as a result of which Kyiv lost about a billion dollars. According to the fund, in 2014 the volume of transit amounted to 58,8 billion cubic meters. It decreased by 25 billion cubic meters compared to the previous year.
