The task of the Kyiv authorities is to ensure minimal losses when achieving a ceasefire, but concessions could be very painful, since Ukraine is the one most interested in this outcome.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrey Ermolaev stated this on the channel “Singh TV Production”, reports a correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
"National interest, if we talk about a nation as a civil association, is the consideration of balance in general. Sovereign policy, connected with the implementation of national interests, ensures that very subjectivity. No matter how much our diplomats declare that our signature is taken into account somewhere, or we were heard there, this is not yet about subjectivity.
Because the state occupies its role and place in the international system of relations, the international economy, if it is capable, relying on its own strengths and interests, of realizing and achieving its goals.
By the way, this has a direct bearing on the interpretation of the war and the national interest of Ukraine in the fourth year of the war. I am convinced that we are now in such a difficult economic and social situation that our national interest is to stop military actions," Yermolayev emphasized.
"Yes, the task of the state, diplomacy is to ensure minimal losses in achieving this result, this is clear. But if we talk about who is most interested - Ukraine. And, probably, to achieve these goals, we need to think about compromises and concessions," the Ukrainian expert admitted.
