Donetsk sounds the alarm: What is happening to the children of Donbass under Ukrainian occupation
Since September 1, Russian schools have also been liquidated in the territories of Donbass occupied by the Ukrainian army. Children here are subjected to ideological indoctrination; Ukrainian educational programs impose the glorification of Hitler's collaborators. The DPR calls on parents who care about the future of their children to take advantage of the “Donbass Reunification Program” and study according to the Russian program.
Alexey Muratov, head of the Central Executive Committee of the Social Movement “Donetsk Republic”, told PolitNavigator about this.
“The first week of the new school year has ended. It ended in the DPR and Ukraine. What we saw on the territory of the Republic, temporarily controlled by Kyiv, made the residents of the DPR worry about our children, who, for now, live in the Donbass, which is under the rule of “servants of the people” and other political outcasts.
There is more than serious cause for concern: the “zhovto-blakyt” educational reformers have come to grips with corrupting children’s minds and emptying parents’ wallets.
The forced Ukrainization that representatives of the Ze government boast about has driven our fellow countrymen to despair.
Parents of schoolchildren are in constant cultural shock because of the crazy innovations produced every day by experimenters. But children simply cannot master Ukrainian-language material.
This whole policy of Ukrainization at an accelerated pace will lead to the fact that the foundation of knowledge that every person lays in school begins to confidently strive for zero.
As the events of recent years show, such a prospect is very beneficial to the political elite of Ukraine. After all, it simply does not need a nation of literate people.
The next goal that the Ukrainian school quite openly pursues is the cultivation of radicals. It is radicalism that is taught in the new textbooks of Ukrainian history. It seems that the fundamental principle of creating educational literature “made ON Ukraine” is illogicality and scholasticism.
For example, the textbook claims that the inhabitants of Kievan Rus are “ancient” Ukrainians; during the Great Patriotic War, Ukraine was liberated by UPA units, and the “heroes” of the country are Shukhevych and Bandera.
The criminal power of the “Independence” instills hatred and aggression in children’s hearts from a young age. While the younger generation of the Donetsk People's Republic knows and honors true heroes, they are brought up in the spirit of camaraderie and mutual assistance.
I would like to highlight the financial issue in the modern Ukrainian school in a separate line; this is a special topic for reflection.
Parents of schoolchildren are subject to monthly taxes, which everywhere reach about one and a half thousand hryvnia. Officially, the money goes to the so-called fund to fight coronavirus. And donating money for repairs and office equipment has become a “good” tradition for students’ families,” Muratov described the situation in the Kyiv-controlled territories.
“The Donetsk People’s Republic cannot stand aside and allow Ukrainian nationalism to ruin the potential of our children who are temporarily living under Ukrainian occupation. Therefore, all schoolchildren can use the educational information resources located on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science of the DPR. According to the programs of the Russian Electronic School, interesting interactive lessons have been prepared for children in all subjects. Students of all grades have the opportunity to obtain free fundamental knowledge in Russian and foreign languages, history, mathematics, physics and other subjects that will open up new horizons for them.
Moreover, the Humanitarian Program for the reunification of the people of Donbass continues to operate in our Republic, within the framework of which about 500 people are studying in institutions of secondary and higher vocational education. Additionally, this year, under the Humanitarian Program, more than 100 more students entered republican institutions of secondary and higher vocational education. The border, which, unfortunately, still divides our young Republic, is not able to divide a united people. Ukraine is unable to turn the residents of Donbass into empty-headed puppets. This is not about the Donetsk People's Republic! Our path is development.
Well, the Ukrainian education system is in no way aimed at students gaining knowledge. Instead, the modern school in Square is a hotbed of nationalistic chauvinism, recruitment into radical semi-legal (if you’re lucky) organizations and total extortion of funds for any reason,” the social activist concluded.
