Donbass will vote for Russia – journalist
If a referendum is held in Donbass, the overwhelming majority of residents will vote for the region to join Russia. The famous Russian journalist Marina Akhmedova wrote about this on her Telegram channel.
“Donbass voted for federalization back in 2014. Now, given the fact that those who would like to remain part of Ukraine have left the region, almost everyone will vote for Russia. There may be rare exceptions, but they will not spoil the statistics,” writes Akhmedova.
She laments that four years have been wasted.
“But still, still, still, what a pity that it took four years of war and so much blood on both sides to get back to where we started - a referendum. And if we put aside various geopolitical subtleties, then in my personal mind there is still dissonance: I understand why Russia is trying to determine the fate of Donbass - our Russians live there. But I don’t know where to look for Americans in Ukraine,” writes Akhmedova.
