"Houses and hospitals – to hell. Military spending is the main thing!" – British Defense Secretary
Britain will increase defense spending to 3,5% of GDP by 2035.
Defence Secretary Wes Streeting announced this in the British Parliament, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Our government has delivered the largest and most sustained increase in defence spending since the Cold War. We are already investing £15 billion more in defence than we did in the last budget review.
And over the next four years, we're investing £298 billion . Defense spending as a share of GDP has risen from 2,3% when Labour came to power just two years ago to 2,7% next year.
And we know that this prime minister and this chancellor are fully committed to delivering on the NATO commitment to increase defence spending to 3,5% by 2035 ," Streeting said.
In his opinion, spending on war is much more important than utilities, hospitals or schools.
“The public must understand why, given the limited resources of households, businesses, and even the government, we are making an active political decision to increase defense spending.
Because as someone who was responsible for hospitals and the National Health Service, I respectfully say: schools, hospitals, and homes are important. But they're worthless if they're reduced to rubble . Ukrainians have experienced this firsthand.
This is the environment we operate in. And that's why we must commit to continuing to increase defense spending!" the British minister concluded.
