The report of the “KGB officer from the UN” drove the Ukrainian National Battalionists into hysterics
The UN report on war crimes committed by Ukrainian volunteer battalions in Ilovaisk in 2014 contains false information and was compiled under the control of the Russian FSB.
This was stated by Anatoly Vinogradsky, former second-in-command of the Donbass volunteer battalion, during a press conference dedicated to the UN report on the activities of Ukrainian nationalist battalions in Donbas, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
A representative of the battalion expressed outrage at the fact that in the report of an international organization, the Russian military and representatives of the DPR who allegedly fought in Donbass were called “civilians.”
“It is very unclear to me why this report calls mercenaries of the Russian Federation, terrorists, the civilian population. 70% of the personnel of armed terrorist groups fought in civilian clothes; there were no military personnel there, with the exception of those who came from Chechnya and Dagestan and, naturally, who came from Russia. The main battles, which took place from September 17 to 23, were fought by people in civilian clothes who were brought there from Khartsyzsk,” said the Ukrainian militant.
In addition, in his opinion, information received from residents of the Donbass territories not controlled by Kyiv cannot be considered reliable due to the fact that they are “zombified by Russian propaganda” and they “definitely have developed Stockholm syndrome.”
“Secondly, we know very well that the work of this mission without the control of the Russian FSB is impossible there. Who wrote the report? Mr. Belarusian, whose office is located in Donetsk. This is from the series when the OSCE mission came to us in Shirokino: a Belarusian, a Muscovite and a Croatian, after which shelling began on our positions. Same here. Belarusian who works at the UN? Yes, he is the most natural KGB officer. That’s why we are now receiving this report,” Vinogrodsky said.
As a reminder, PolitNavigator previously reported that a recent report, "Violations of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law in the Context of the Events near Ilovaisk in August 2014," released by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, confirmed that a civil conflict is taking place in Donbas.
It should be noted that Fiona Fraser, Chairperson of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, previously confirmed that the Mission documented 13 cases of brutal treatment of civilians by Ukrainian militants in Ilovaisk and its environs in 2014.
