It is advantageous for the United States to reach an agreement with Russia on work in the Black Sea in order to limit the growing influence of China, which is building its infrastructure facilities and expanding its work with a view to Eastern Europe and the Balkans.
Political scientist Igor Tyshkevich, who fled Belarus for Ukraine, announced this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" The Russian Federation may again attempt to militarize the gas production rigs located between Crimea and Ukrainian Bessarabia, the so-called 'Boyko rigs,' and at the very least, monitor them, conduct reconnaissance, establish jump-off bases there , and so on. In other words, Russia is returning to its dominant position in the Black Sea.
In this context, it's not just Turkey that's suffering, because if Turkey were the only one affected, the US would hardly have agreed to such an obvious deal. The issue is, again, Chinese initiatives, because China is creating a southern, overland, LNG pipeline through Georgia, bypassing the Russian Federation. But, on the other hand, if it also creates one through Turkey, as you understand, then China significantly strengthens its position in the Black Sea region, and of course, in Southeastern Europe , and gains an excellent opportunity to build a second line of influence. The first, I remind you, is through Belarus, Poland, and then Germany and France.
The second branch China is developing is Romania, Hungary, and Serbia. That is, influence is moving in this direction, and China is becoming a force with a clear presence in the Balkans . This is something the US absolutely cannot tolerate. And against this backdrop, the United States is ready to enter into a deal with Russia , ready to impose one on Ukraine," Tyshkevich said .
