Moldova will not join EU and US sanctions against Russia.
Moldovan Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu stated this in an interview with TV-8, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Decisions on sanctions against Russia are difficult decisions even for states with stronger economies. In Moldova, back in 2014, they decided not to join the EU and US sanctions against the Russian Federation. We will continue to adhere to this position. Moldova is not involved in the geopolitical processes that led to a military clash on the territory of Ukraine. For the sake of geopolitical chimeras, no one would want to face the same tragedy in our country,” Propescu said.
Political scientist Alexander Nosovich regarded this statement as an actual refusal of the pro-Western Moldovan government from the ideas imposed by its curators.
“What kind of geopolitical chimeras are these? Is it really NATO and the European Union? All the pro-Western political groups from which the current ruling team of Sandu-Gavrilitsa grew up led Moldova to these chimeras.
