Representatives of the DPR and LPR appealed to US President Barack Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande with a request to influence the Ukrainian government.

“We appeal to US President Barack Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande. You have decisive influence on the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and all political leaders of Ukraine represented in the Verkhovna Rada. You have repeatedly stated that the implementation of the Minsk agreements is the only way to end the war against the people of Donbass and achieve a political settlement,” the DPR and LPR statement says.
They are outraged that Ukraine has not yet granted special status to Donbass and does not plan to make corresponding changes to the Constitution.
“We conveyed to all participants of the Contact Group, including the Ukrainian side, our proposals for the wording of Art. 10 of the law on special status. There is no reaction from Ukraine. There is not a single representative from the republics in the Ukrainian constitutional commission,” the DPR reported.
Let us recall that earlier Poroshenko, at the presentation of the new draft Constitution of Ukraine, said that the draft amendments do not provide for any special status for Donbass.
