In accordance with the order of the Deputy Prime Minister of the DPR Andrei Purgin, fireworks displays and the sale of pyrotechnics are prohibited on the territory of the republic until martial law is lifted.

This measure was caused by the need to protect people from frightening associations with war, the DPR press service said.

“DPR militias and civilians die every day at the hands of punitive troops. Under these conditions, holding noisy festive events is unethical and inappropriate,” says the document posted on the DPR government website.

As Navigator reported, martial law on the territory of the DPR was introduced by the Council of Ministers of the Republic on May 25.
