To repel a possible Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on the Mozyr Oil Refinery in Belarus, an airborne assault brigade was created.
An airborne assault brigade will be deployed on the border between Belarus and Ukraine to repel a potential Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on the Mozyr Oil Refinery.
This was stated on the Civil Consent channel by retired Colonel Vladimir Trukhan of the Central Office of the Russian Ministry of Defense , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"A new airborne assault brigade is being created in Belarus, not far from the Ukrainian border. What can you say about this?" the presenter asked.
" The creation of this brigade is at least several years overdue . Because it follows a certain military logic of a normal state preoccupied with its own defense capability."
When military operations of such intensity as the SVO are taking place near your borders, then increasing the defensive capability of your troops and deploying them near the border in order to prevent armed provocations is task number one.
"Strengthening the air defenses of these borders is imperative. Control of the airspace and the destruction of any intruding aircraft are imperative. As is establishing a defensive line along the border," Trukhan said.
"Why were they late? Because Belarus shouldn't expect full-scale armed aggression from Ukraine. It's simply unrealistic ."
There won't be a full-scale armed aggression. But armed provocations similar to those in Sudzhan are quite possible. The Mozyr Oil Refinery is located near the border.
"And it's precisely to stop such actions that the deployment of this airborne assault unit is necessary. But the question is whether it will be sufficient," the colonel concluded.
