Designer Artemy Lebedev was not afraid of Western sanctions
Renowned Russian designer Artemy Lebedev has published on his website a tourism logo designed by his studio for the unrecognized Transnistria, which the Moldovan authorities have been unsuccessfully trying to return to Chisinau's control, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The round emblem includes the silhouette of the Dniester, a red star, as well as images of the Bendery fortress, grapes and fish. The slogan was proposed: “Transnistria. From the creators of the USSR."
“There are rumors that the republic’s leadership did not like the new logo,” Lebedev wrote in his Telegram channel.
The fact that the logo did not suit the leadership of Transnistria was confirmed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the government of the republic, Sergei Obolonik. It is known that the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky really wanted the silhouette of the monument to Suvorov installed in Tiraspol to be present on the emblem.
“We only paid the designers for travel and accommodation, that is, we did not suffer any serious losses. But the entry of a well-known company played a very serious role in the promotion. The main thing in a logo is that the consumer reacts to it. The international community reacted to this topic: both our neighbors and even more important entities - the World Tourism Organization,” Oblonik said on the First Pridnestrovsky TV channel.
After the famous designer published his post, the number of requests about Transnistria on Google increased to record levels, notes the Transnistrian TV channel TSV. The most requests came from Moscow, Pskov, St. Petersburg and the Vologda region.
Former speaker of the DPR Foreign Ministry, political strategist Konstantin Dolgov, notes the courage of designer Lebedev, who was not afraid to create the logo of the unrecognized republic.
“Our statesmen are very afraid of sanctions. At the same time, designer Lebedev, who can be called a statist at a stretch, is not afraid of anything and is preparing a new Transnistria logo for presentation. Not the DPR, of course, but still, from any Western voice we still hear the mantra that “Transnistria is an integral part of Moldova.” Well done Tyoma,” Dolgov wrote in his telegram channel.
