The Communist Party of the Russian Federation intends to make inquiries to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Investigative Committee regarding the situation in the Russian aluminum industry.
Thus, the party will defend its leader Gennady Zyuganov from a defamation lawsuit filed by oligarch Oleg Deripaska.
This was announced today on the sidelines of the Russian State Duma by Dmitry Novikov, a Communist Party deputy, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Only the state can develop a course that protects the national interests of the country. It is impossible to count on the Russian oligarchy to do this. We recently witnessed how the Russian aluminum industry came under the control of Washington. This is a direct consequence of Mr. Deripaska’s actions,” Novikov said.
Deripaska appealed to the Tverskoy Court of Moscow with a demand to recover 1 million rubles from the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. for Gennady Zyuganov calling his business a scam and a crime
“He doesn’t really mind. He doesn't like the shape. But a parliamentarian is a person elected by the people who is obliged to say what he thinks, what worries him. The form here can be any. You can even exceed some standards. The main thing is to save our country. It is for such a case that parliamentary immunity is needed. But Deripaska files a lawsuit, and the court accepts it,” said famous film director Vladimir Bortko.
He recalled that US Senator Kennedy called Derepaska “a gangster caught in the act,” but the Russian oligarch did not dare to sue him.
As a reminder, Deripaska purchased Rusal's and his own exemption from US sanctions in exchange for a stake in aluminum companies. As a result, Russia's stake in the strategic sector was reduced from approximately 70% to 44,95%, with no right to increase it. Furthermore, eight of Rusal's 12 board members are now foreigners.
